

This position will carry a five-day standard workweek that includes one weekend day (Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday).Providing excellent customer service and support to visitors.Facilitating group visits, parties, and other events in the Museum.

Keeping Museum and employment records, such as inventory, attendance, and hours worked.Assisting in overseeing Museum floor staff, security, maintenance, and volunteers.Understanding the master schedule of Museum facilities and the uses to which they are being put in order to help prepare and provide for success in those uses.Ensuring excellent visitor experiences and visitor satisfaction within the Museum.The Assistant Floor Manager will be responsible for the following: This position also assists in overseeing the daily operations and visitor services at 11 E 26th St. The Assistant Floor Manager will be the primary responsible party in the visitor center on those days when the Floor Manager is not present. The National Museum of Mathematics is seeking a responsible, efficient, and energetic individual to interact with visitors and enhance their experiences in the Museum, at a level of excellence which will help lead the interpretive staff by example. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with Museum staff and to effectively communicate with external partners.Prior experience and familiarity with exhibition design.Familiarity with the physical properties of typical materials found in exhibits and furnishings.Familiarity with Adobe suite of graphic design and publishing programs (most graphic design tasks are handled by MoMath’s graphics designer).Strong 3D design skills modeling, rendering, graphics integration.Proficiency with Vectorworks or similar CAD program (MoMath is a Vectorworks office) required proficiency with other 3D modeling programs that complement Vectorworks is a plus.Degree in exhibit design or related field (architecture, interior design, industrial design) required.Monitor communications with fabricators.

Devise detailed and coordinate drawing sets for price estimation and fabricator bids.Explore and document design solutions addressing spatial, technical, and structural issues.Ideate and create visuals of design alternatives.Create concept renderings for presentation in various formats including slide shows and brochures.
